State Sponsored Life Insurance (SSLI) is derived from United States Public Law 93-289, May 24, 1974; Sections 204 and 206 of Title 37, United States Code. The following States' National Guard provides SSLI through their National Guard Associations, sponsorship of the Group Life Plans detailed in their Web sites. |

Key characteristics of a State Sponsored Life Insurance Policy
• Covered in combat
• All military occupations are covered including pilots, parachutists, etc.
• Portability, coverage doesn't end just because you leave active service
• Spouse and dependent children coverage available
• Pays most valid claims or emergency benefit with in 24 to 48 hours of receipt of proof
of loss
All active National Guard members of the States' National Guard listed above are automatically provided with $1,000 of Group Term Life Coverage under the Militia Insurance Trust Group Life Insurance Plan at no cost to the National Guard member as of June 3, 2006. Massachusetts National Guard Members
The Welcome Home Bill provides each member of The Massachusetts National Guard an option to have SSLI or any of the six sponsored SSLI Group Life Plans premium reimbursed up to $14.00 per month or $ 168.00 yearly. |

Oklahoma National Guard Members
Oklahoma Statute, Title 44, Section 77 provides each member of the Oklahoma National Guard an option to have their SSLI premium paid up to $16.25 per month or $195.00 per year for any of the six sponsored SSLI Group Life Plans. |
